As much as I love the cool weather, I am so ready for spring. Once Valentine’s Day is over, I officially am over the cold weather. Unfortunately, New Mexico has a way of being 70 degrees one day then snowing the next….

Personally, when it’s cool outside I love to be warm, but most importantly comfortable. My blue coat is from Eddie Bauer. I’ve never loved a coat more! it has a thin black outer shell that it zips into, giving you that extra protection from wind and water. I wore it on my cabin trip while I was sledding all day and I was never cold
For my birthday this year, my dad invested in a new pair of snow boots for me. Not only are the Sorel “Joan of Arctics” cute, but they are so functional. Wearing them around is the one thing I will miss about the winter season this year. I wore them as well on my cabin trip last month and they endured the snow like champions.

What are some of your favorite winter accessories? Will you miss the winter this year? Comment below, If love to hear from you guys!

Happy almost Valentine’s Day! Personally, this is one of my favorite times of the year (I say that about every holiday). I love the color pink, so to me it’s a day to celebrate being girly. I do that everyday though…
As a kid I loved Valentine’s Day mostly because of all the candy I would receive. These days I’ve been keeping candy out of my diet so I just look forward to a day full of pink, sparkles and heart shaped everything.
I decided to style an outfit because who doesn’t love a colorful color scheme? I love the way the pale pink sweetheart dress looks paired with a darker, brighter pink accessory. Gold is my favorite accent color so I thought the bracelet fit well too. I look forward to the day I’m dressed in all Kate Spade heading to dinner with my sweetie!
What are all your plans for the most loving day of the year? Any outfit ideas? I’d love to hear from you!!

Living in a dorm, my interior design possibilities are very limited. The past few months I’ve done nothing but sit on Pinterest and just pin the day away daydreaming of beautiful interiors for the home I one day own. I have high hopes for my first apartment by my self, a touch of girly is always a good idea, right?
I absolutely love furniture so I was delighted when I came across Chairish online! It is an exclusive curator approved, online marketplace for vintage furniture. Not only was the furniture perfect, but the website was so fun to look at too, and that’s always a plus! I was specifically drawn to their chairs. I love bright pops of color, and some of the chairs I came across were exactly what I could imagine sitting in my future home.
I put some styles together below with some images I found online from Pinterest, hope you enjoy!

I immediately knew I wanted to style a room around this pink chair. With white details it was gorgeous!

These two chairs are both pretty wild, but I love cheetah print and the other blue chair was just as pretty. I thought touches of gold would work well with both chairs.

These last two are polar opposites! The dark blue chair is so clean looking it’d work well with just about anything (including zebra stripes). The purple chair on the other hand was so bright and a little out there, but I love it SO much! I think styling them in white rooms would really brighten up a room.

I hope you liked the stylings I chose, feel free to comment what room decor you love! Also head over to Chairish to see where I got my inspiration 🙂

Happy Thursday!

It’s been so cold recently and I’ve never wanted the spring weather more. My birthday is this Monday, and ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted a summer birthday. My childhood birthday parties consisted of bowling or anything indoor but I’ve always wanted some nice outdoor party. A girl can dream, right?

This year I’m hoping to go to a nice dinner with some friends, so dressing up is a must! I styled two looks that would be great for this kind of occasion, however they have a very summer-y feel to them (haha).

I decided to style these two looks around the two rings. The rings are from Invaluable, the world’s premiere online marketplace. Invaluable features all kinds of styles of rungs, watches, other jewelry, and antique collectibles. I especially love their ring collection. Rings are such a fun way to add flair to a look! All their pieces are beautiful and unique.

I can’t believe I’ll be 20 on Monday, not a teenager anymore! Do you have any plans for the long weekend? Hope you all have a wonderful week, thank you for reading!

icy wonderland…

It’s been a few weeks, but I’m so excited to share my vacation trip with you all!! I thought my pictures came out great 🙂

With classes starting tomorrow, I can’t help but feel like winter break went by far too fast. Today I took a sick day (I came down with a cold) and was feeling very nostalgic about the cabin trip I took only a week ago.
Last weekend a few of my best friends and I road tripped to Chama for the New Years weekend. I had the most fun I’ve ever had in a fairly long time. We stayed in my friend’s family cabin and made it a home for a little. We would get up early to sled and stay up all night playing board and card games.
Who knew that deer were so brave up there! Throughout the day, deer would stroll up to the porch and we’d feed then some deer food. Quite a little experience!
Not to brag, but I was fairly pleased that I picked up snowboarding last weekend too! I guess I’m a quick learner. I do have a lot more practice to do though…
The view was beautiful. We drove up on the snowiest day of the year so far but the weather over the weekend was more than enjoyable. I can only look forward to going back.
Happy New Year !!!

winter warmth…

Merry Christmas Eve! I feel like I’ve been waiting for today for years, but it has been a whole year I guess (haha).
I am so happy that it is fiiinally cold enough to wear big thick sweaters. I’ve recently grown quite fond of cowl neck sweaters. It’s so warm and soft, I feel like I’m wearing a blanket all day.
One of the best parts of being home is getting to see my little puppy Pixy. She was groomed yesterday and is basically a brand new girl. who doesn’t love a clean, good smelling doggy?
Christmas is my favorite time of year and I’m so happy to be spending it with the people I love. My older sister flies in today and I think that is the best gift of the season.

What are some of the things you look forward to this holiday season? Have a safe and blessed Christmas!

Christmas lights…

This holiday season so far has been a wonderful one. It’s been absolutely busy as well! One of the highlights so far was being able to take a break from everything and spend time embracing the holiday spirit. A few friends of mine and I took a night off and went to the River of Lights at the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens. I have been a few times over the past couple of years and I always love it. It was insanely busy this year but I was lucky enough to get some great pictures of my favorite lights with no other people in them!

The gardens had not only the lights set up but a few small winter snack stands as well. What trip is complete without a cupcake and some hot cocoa? Basically winter heaven.

So blessed to have the River of Lights so close to where I live. It’s always a wonderful time. What are some of the things you do where you live? I’d love to hear 🙂

season decor: christmas…

With 5 days until Christmas, I decided I would finally show you my room decor! I decided to take it seriously this year since I knew I wouldn’t be home for most of winter break to appreciate the way my mom decorated our house. I wanted to truly feel the Christmas spirit now matter where I was.
I got most of my decorations at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. Here and there a couple Target items popped in there.
More importantly I finally treated myself to the infamous Anthropologie mug! I have wanted one for so long. Rachel Parcell’s is what inspired me…
The last image on here is a shadow box I put together for my bathroom. There’s a few drawings of my own, some pictures from Pinterest and a holiday Lilly Pulitzer graphic. I am really happy with the way it came out. It added an extra pop to the bathroom. Who doesn’t love decorations?!
Let me know some of your Christmas decor favorites! I would love to hear 🙂

holiday happenings…

Finals are over and I’m happy to announce I successfully passed all my classes and I’m just a few weeks away from applying to business school. How crazy is that? This semester has been an insane one, I can’t even begin to describe the things that have happened but I stayed strong and made it through it all!

It’s been such a long time since I’ve made a blog post. With stress of finals taking over almost immediately I had time for nothing but studying! I’m glad to have time now to take a break and do the things I love.

Thanksgiving was a much needed break from the mess of school. I went home for the day to see my family. Dinner was delicious. My mom is an incredible cook. I thank my lucky stars she was so blessed in that department (haha). I was given the task of table decor and I was fairly happy with the way it turned out. I went for a lighter look but incorporating those Thanksgiving and wintery touches.

Holidays also call for a few sister pictures (and of course some of them were sister selfies). I love my little one Maddie, she’s graduating this year and I can’t quite grasp the reality of it all. I still remember the trouble we used to cause…

A couple of days ago during my intense finals studying my dad sent me a picture of the decor at my house. It looks amazing!! I’m so excited to go home and see how cozy it is. I’ll be posting the holiday decor I have in my dorm room currently soon, so look out for it 🙂

I hope you all have a safe and blessed holiday season this year!

blue + neutral…

This past Sunday I went to dinner with a friend of mine in Old Town. A perfect reason to dress up a little right? And by dress up I mean wearing a little bit of red lipstick!
I was soooo thankful it was a little chilly out. The past week it has been so warm in Albuquerque and I cherish any moment that it’s below 70 degrees.
I added the little blue pop of color of my skirt to the look because my tights, shirt and (favorite) shoes were so neutral. I was also happy with the way my bag went along with the color
pop as well.
On another note, I have a package from Nordstrom coming in this week and I could NOT be more excited for it. I treated myself to some new makeup, it’s a girls favorite thing.
What are some of your favorite beauty products? Please feel free to comment, I love to hear!
Happy Halloween!!
