lifetime lately

First of all, let me start with it’s been quite a while. This post is long over do as I can’t even begin to explain what all has changed in the past couple of months.

Back in June, Lilies and Holly had it’s one year anniversary. I’m a little sad I wasn’t actively posting at that point because a year is a long time! It’s a cool milestone to accomplish.

Anyways, I’m hoping to be back for a little while. Finals are approaching so we’ll see how that plan goes (ha!). This is my first semester in the business school at UNM and so far it’s been an experience. Need less to say, I’ve learned more in these three months than I have in all my years of formal schooling (glad to be done with core classes.) In other cool news, I am on track to graduate a semester early, so here’s to UNM’s class of December 2016! I guess i’m that much closer to having to be an adult…

I bought a car back in July! With the help of my father, I am now the proud owner of a cute, little, white Dodge Dart. I love it mostly because now I actually have transportation. It’s way more convenient than I ever could’ve thought!

If you’ve been following along for a while now, then you know last year I was a Resident Advisor at the dorms last year. Well back in April I was promoted to Leasing Assistant! I now work under the coolest girl ever, my Leasing Manager, Danielle. She’s easily become my favorite part of my job.

I moved into a house at the beginning of July with my freshman roommate, Ali, and a few other of my friends. The house is the cutest, old house in a family neighborhood not far from campus. Hopefully I’ll have some decor pictures up soon (decorating was my job).

But the biggest, greatest, sweetest, most amazing (and other cheesy adjectives) thing that’s happened this summer would be Nicholaus Warner. He and I have been dating for just over 3 years now. I’ve never mentioned him because, well, he was a secret. For 3 years. Long story short, he’s the coolest around and my dog loves him more than she loves me. He’s that tall and handsome dude that I’ve been instagramming…

He rides motocross which is pretty cool

I’m beginning to feel like I’m growing up just minus the adult part of it. I turn 21 in January and that’s pretty weird, but I look forward to what’s ahead! I’ve missed blogging, it’s a nice outlet. Hope to hear from you all!

I’d also just like to point out that Nick met Dylan O’Brien…

new sunnies…

While I was in Long Beach I stopped by the Francesca’s on second street and invested in a cute pair of sunglasses. Not so much an investment because they we actually the best deal… I got the floral sunglasses case half off too!

Though I may miss the ocean more than ANYTHING, today was incredibly warm here in Albuquerque. I guess Mother Nature finally heard me 😉

Today was the perfect day for this cute little floral skirt. My sister Maddie gave it to me a while back and it’s the comfiest thing. I though pairing it with my brown booties made for a cute yet functional look. Hopefully the weather will continue to allow skirts!

What are some of your favorite warm weather outfits? Let me know, I’ll be out shopping soon!

sun rays…

Yesterday was my last day in California. I’m so sad to be leaving this morning, I’ve never been so happy to spend time in such a pretty town.

The week I spent in Long Beach was beautiful! There were clear blue skies almost all week and I couldn’t have been more spoiled my entire stay.

I spent my time on the water most of the time so I tried to dress simply This black romper I had in my closet was the perfect cover up. It was light and airy and easy to pull on and off. Plus, who doesn’t love a cute romper?

Personally, my favorite part of al my looks was my hat. What’s reeeeally crazy was it was just a quick pick up at the Rite Aide in 2nd Street when I was buying sunscreen! The best funds are the random ones.

What are your favorite sunny styles? Comment below!

boardwalk + greys…

The past few days, I’ve had the best time exploring Long Beach and all the areas around it.

Yesterday I spent my time in downtown Long Beach walking around the pier browsing all the shops along the marina. I rented a little bike and ride around the sidewalks.

It was HOT yesterday. Usually there is a slight breeze coming off the water, but it was burning. This dress was perfect for the weather. It was light and flowing. Even better was it was a $10 find at Forever21 a few years back. I’m not sure who said Forever21 didn’t have quality products, but I am always a happy customer!

What have you been up to this week? If you’re a California local, have you enjoyed the clear skies?? I know I have!

Hope you all have a relaxing Monday 🙂

beach vibes…

Happy weekend and happy spring break to those of you enjoying this week off! I myself am soaking up the sun in Long Beach, CA.

It’s been years since I’ve been on a beach and when a good friend of mine offered to vacation with me I was so over the moon! Leaving the 40 degree weather for the mid 80s here was a great decision, but not only that but the sky has been so clear. I’ve been so blessed to have come out at such a perfect time.

Today I spent the entire day on the water. I headed to the beach this morning then later hopped on a boat and cruised around the Marina. It was incredible.

I had on a little sun dress I purchased from Forever21 last year. I hadn’t worn it too much until now, it worked as a perfect cover up. Even more importantly were my sandals I got from Target a couple of days ago. I love the black strappy look and I’m so happy that Target had this style.

What are your plans for this break? I’d love to hear from you all!

my look: skin care…

Skin care is incredibly important to me due to the fact that I have incredibly dry skin. For years I’ve searched for the perfect skin products. Within the past few months, I’ve found the best products for me and I thought I would share!

Processed with Moldiv

Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer – I use this moisturizer most of the time on my face because a lot of the other “fancier” moisturizers dry my face out! this one keeps my skin feeling soft.

Covergirl TruBlend Liquid Makeup – I wear Natural Ivory because my skin is so fair. This is the first part of my makeup routine and I must say it really helps with keeping my skin tone even. I like it so much because it doesn’t feel like it is just coated on my skin.

Estee Lauder ‘Perfectly Clean’ Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask – This is my favorite face wash I’ve ever used. It’s a little more pricey than most of the products I use, but it works so well so it’s completely worth it.

Seacret Salt and Oil Scrub – This scrub was given to me as a gift. It’s made from the minerals found in the Dead Sea. I use it every now and then in the shower to scrub my heels. It keeps them feeling soooo soft and it smells just as great.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes – These towelettes are possibly the greatest thing I’ve ever purchased. They truly work like a magic makeup eraser. It makes my face cleaning process so much simpler. If you have not tried these I strongly suggest you give them a go!!

Estee Lauder ‘Advanced Time Zone Day Wrinkle Cream – I use this moisturizer every now and then in unison with the Advanced Time Zone night cream. I don’t struggle with wrinkles (yet) but I figured why not fight them now!

L’Oreal Sublime Bronzer – This bronzer is great if you are looking for a quick color to your skin. I’ve been using the Jergens Gradual Tanner, but like the title says, it’s gradual. This one works immediately and looks great for just a quick color.

Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash – I don’t like to use scented body washes because my skin is so sensitive so this one is great. It helps with my dry skin and helps it to feel soft and moisturized. It doesn’t leave any residue behind.

NIVEA Extended Moisture Body Lotion – I swear by this body lotion. I absolutely love Nivea products and this lotion works perfectly for my skin. It doesnt clog my pores and keeps my skin feeling fresh and clean.

What products do you like to use? I’d love to hear!

This week’s weather has already been so cold. I am more than ready for the spring weather, and with spring break next week, I’m looking forward to heading somewhere warm!

I’ve had to bundle up the past few days so luckily my knit cardigan from Tilly’s keeps me plenty warm. On days like yesterday when it snows a little, I like to where my tall boots to keep my chilly little feet warm. Who doesn’t love a nice pair of wool socks?

As much as I love the winter weather, New Mexico sure has a way of changing your mind. Last week it was sunny and hitting temperatures up to 70. This week, it’s showed and hasn’t gone above 45 degrees. Bring on that summer sun!!

What are you looking forward to for spring break and the warm weather?

With the weather warming up juuuuust a tad, I didn’t bundle up today nearly as much as I have been.

The sweater I paired with this look was actually stolen from my younger sister. Im firstly positive it was an H&M find, so one of the best deals around! What’s even funnier is my green pants are hand-me-down…from my younger sister as well. What can I say? She has great style.

The best part of my look is my bag. It was a $10 Charming Charlie’s find!! Not only was it a great deal but it is incredibly cute as well. It’s perfect for carrying my books around to class and to smuggle my own water bottles into movie theaters 😉

What are some of your favorite deals and finds? Comment and share with your friends, I love hearing from you!

I don’t know about you, but the cold weather is always so hard in my skin, but especially my lips. I love to just take a day and really care for my skin so I thought today I would share my favorite lip care products!

I take pretty good care of my lips. I always use a washcloth before bed to exfoliate them. Then I’ll use my C. O. Bigelow Rose Salve. I usually get it from Bath and Body Works, but I’ve seen it at Anthropologie as well.
Depending on the day, my go to lip balm throughout the day is either Nivea Milk and Honey or the Vanilla Bean Burt’s Bees (find at Target, Walmart, etc.) or the Vanilla and Oatmeal balm I found at Anthropologie. They both smell sooo good!

For color, I’ll grab my cherry flavored Baby Lips because it gives a tint of red. More recently though I’ve been using some shades of Estée Lauder. I’m not sure of the exact shades, but I lean toward pink. My collection is growing so I recommend any of them!!

What are some of your favorite lip care products? Hope you all have a wonderful weekend 🙂

Valentine’s weekend was such a wonderful one. I had done my homework ahead of time so I could have a nice, relaxing time. Smartest decision I’ve ever made!

I was so excited to go to dinner with my best friend I went out and purchased a new dress. I found this cute little white dress at Forever 21. I love the style of it, but I also love white. So combine those qualities with the price at Forever 21 and it was an instant winner.

I hadn’t worn heels in such a loooong time so it was a treat to keep myself standing all night. I thought they were a nice touch to my look, so no matter what I would not pass up the opportunity to pull together a nice look!

What were your plans this past weekend? Any favorite looks of yours? Feel free to comment and share with your friends, I’d love to hear from you all!
